Jewish Hospice

What is Hospice Care and who benefits from it? The concept of Hospice care emphasizes the quality of a persons life from a soothing and comforting rather than curative stance.  The patient and the family are supported emotionally, Spiritually, and  from a practical sense. Although Hospice care is given to patients with a limited life expectancy, Hospice neither hastens nor postpones death, but prepares the patient and the family for the natural process. Preferred Provider (Vista Care) Bikur Cholim Society has made arrangements to partner with VistaCare as our preferred hospice provider. Hospice provides physical, emotional and spiritual care to people facing a terminal illness. This care extends to the families - including at least 13 months of bereavement services and support following the loss of a loved one.

Hospice is 100% covered by Medicare and most Medicaid and commercial insurances, with little to no out-of-pocket expense to the patient. All services provided by the Bikur Cholim Society of Greater Dallas are with the utmost sensitivity to Jewish law, tradition and cultural needs of the Jewish Community.
